Asthma is a chronic lung disease that makes breathing difficult because your airways become inflamed. There's no cure for asthma, but there are ways to manage it, including:

  • Avoiding asthma triggers
  • Taking medications to prevent symptoms
  • Preparing to treat asthma episodes

The outpatient Asthma Education and Management Program at Community Regional Medical Center helps asthma patients achieve long-term control and management of their asthma symptoms.

Asthma Education

We provide comprehensive asthma education for both adult and pediatric patients. During your asthma education visits we'll explain what asthma is, create a personalized asthma action plan for you, and teach you and your family:

  • Tips to manage your asthma
  • The difference between rescue and preventative medications
  • How to properly take your asthma medications
  • How to look for, avoid and minimize asthma triggers such as pets, mold or proximity to highways or dusty farm fields
